Why Use an Old Version of GB WhatsApp?
- Older phones. Some older Android devices run an earlier build more smoothly.
- A missing feature. Developers occasionally move or remove an option you relied on.
- A buggy release. If a new build crashes on your phone, stepping back one version is a quick fix until the next update.
If the problem is a login message such as “You need the official WhatsApp to log in”, an older version won't solve it. That message comes from WhatsApp's servers, not from the app version.
How to Install an Old Version of GB WhatsApp
Android won't install an older version over a newer one, so a downgrade means removing the current app. Your backup is what carries your chats across.
- Open Settings → Chats → Chat backup and tap Back up.
- Copy the GBWhatsApp folder from Android/media/com.gbwhatsapp to your computer or another folder.
- Uninstall the current GB WhatsApp.
- Download the older APK from the table above and install it.
- Copy the backup folder back if it's missing, open the app, verify your number and tap Restore.
A backup made by a newer version doesn't always restore in an older one. If restore fails, reinstall the newer version and restore there instead.

Is an old version better than the latest one?
Not usually. The latest build has the newest fixes. Use an older one only if the latest doesn't run well on your phone.
Will I lose my chats if I downgrade?
You will if you skip the backup, because downgrading means uninstalling. Back up first and keep a copy of the folder.
Can I update from an old version later?
Yes. Install the newer APK over the old one; no uninstall is needed when moving up.
